What We Teach |
|
In response to the Philippian jailer who asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” the Apostles responded, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved (Acts 16:31).” The obvious question is: Believe what? What is it that one must believe about Jesus to be saved?
Christianity is NOT a religion based on works, but it is based on belief. The very word “faith”, which is the means of grace, indicates that there are certain things we must believe.
At Lebanon EPC, we want to be clear about what we teach. We are unashamed of the Gospel message, believe that it is inerrant and infallible and look to it as the basis of what we believe as a church. We believe that what a church teaches is vitally important. Our teaching reflects these values. |
We provide Sunday School for any and all who would like to take advantage of this opportunity, and we want to assist you in your spiritual growth. Classes are offered for pre-kindergarten through high school ages for our young members. Each class, and we have 5 ongoing, is tailored to specific age groups. From interactive Bible stories for our youngest, Bible studies for the middle age groups, to challenging studies for our high school class, we aggressively nurture our youth and prepare them for their roles in society.
Additionally, we have an active adult class each Sunday morning. Recent topics have included how to have a personal relationship with Christ and a class on raising children in a society that continues to challenge the very beliefs that we hold as the truth.
Feel free to come and give Sunday School a try. We also strongly encourage topics and ideas for future studies, so if you have something in mind, please feel free to suggest it. |
